Studies have proven that a mindfulness training has an impact on the brain area related to attention, which is not really surprising since mindfulness is about "paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally" (Jon Kabat-Zinn). The first step of the Wise Mind's mindfulness program is therefore about attention training. Why is it important? This attention training is important in many ways because your ability to pay attention is the gateway to many cognitive functions and will allow you to get a high resolution perception of your thoughts, feelings and body sensations.
